Biography
Born & raised in Detroit,
educated at parochial and public schools on the West side, Ted Sidelko, like most "Motown” youngsters always had an
interest in cars… and he learned well how to take them apart and put them back together from his father, Frank, who built Chrysler's V8 engines in the 50's and 60's.
Those skills, an innate mechanical aptitude, and an active imagination led to Wayne State University and
acceptance into a Mechanical Engineering curriculum.  After two years, imagination won out over mechanical aptitude,
and two years later Ted received a B.A. in Communications rather than Engineering.  His degree is a major in writing,
performance and direction for radio and television with minors in Speech and English.

His special intuitive skill is the ability to analyze a problem or situation quickly, but further, to identify solutions to the
problem.  His three daughters have taken to calling him "MacGyver", because "Dad can fix anything." Ted started
his communications career at WXYZ-TV in Detroit before graduation as, interestingly enough, an Operations Engineer.
There he learned the basics of camera and audio, recording and production operations.  Later, during his 5-year
tenure at the ABC owned and operated station, he would become a stage manager, a director and finally a full-time
A. M. Detroit Show producer.

Those years honed Ted's interest in promotion where his imagination and natural analytic abilities would be fully realized.
As first, a Promotion Coordinator and then, Assistant Manager of the Promotion department at WJBK-TV in Detroit, he
wrote, produced and directed hundreds of promotional spots and campaigns for radio, TV and print.  He was the lynchpin
of the department, buying radio time and scheduling the placement of spots on-air. He also wrote and produced sales videos, brochures and collateral materials.

His five years at WJBK brought a promotion to Director of Advertising and Promotion at sister station, WITI-TV in Milwaukee.  There, he directed the activities of a 10 person department including a print shop: the station's ad agency, music and
production houses and other vendors.  He stopped the station's slide into a poor third and brought it back into a solid
second place before leaving to start his own company: Saraboo Productions

In 1983 the entrepreneurial spirit captured Ted and resulted in the founding of Saraboo , a full-service, video producing
and communications company.  Saraboo has provided writing, directing and producing services to a variety of clients
including the Big Three auto makers, UAW-Ford National Education and Training Center, Kmart Corporation, ABC, NBC,
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Ameritech, Detroit Edison, The Honeybaked Ham Company and many, many more.

Ted lives in South Lyon, Michigan.  His interests include computer maintenance and repair, remote
control modeling, music, photography, woodworking, cars, reading, and writing.
